Protecting Your Business.

Legal Help For Non-Profits, Small Businesses and Startups

The workplace is changing: the COVID-19 pandemic and the prevalence of working from home has introduced a host of new legal and compliance issues, and the #Metoo movement has spurred legislation offering greater protections to employees against sexual harassment and discrimination. As lawyers who primarily represent employees, we bring a unique and critical perspective to compliance and legal issues that non-profit leaders and business owners face, and know what it takes to protect your organization or business’s interest. And in an ever-changing legal landscape, especially in New York state, companies and organizations need counsel to ensure compliance with current employment laws, including the various paid leave laws and new regulations based on the COVID-19 pandemic.

We love working with employers that share our progressive values.

We provide the following legal services to non-profits, small businesses and start-ups:

  • Employee Handbook review, updating and drafting

  • Compliance with local, state and federal employment laws, including New York Paid Family Leave, COVID-related laws

  • Legal counsel relating to onboarding and exiting employees, including severance negotiations and drafting hiring and termination documents

  • Defending small businesses and organizations against employment-related legal claims in negotiation and in court, including wage and hour violations

  • Trainings for employees, supervisors, managers and executives on all employment-law related issues including anti-discrimination training, sex harassment prevention training, and trainings on paid and unpaid leave policies and statutes.
